Birmingham Royal Ballet gets a mention in The Times’ preview of what to look out for on the UK dance scene in 2010. Here’s what they have to say:
Two of our biggest ballet companies have birthdays in 2010. Birmingham Royal Ballet marks its twentieth with a gala at the Birmingham Hippodrome on March 9. Nothing has yet been announced, but expect something very special to reflect the contribution BRB has made to our cultural life. Later in the year comes another birthday present, this time a new production of Prokofiev’s Cinderella, to be choreographed by the BRB artistic director David Bintley in time for Christmas.
Another mention worth noting is for The Mark Morris Dance Group, which will be landing at the Hippodrome with L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato for International Dance Festival Birmingham in April and May.
