It wasn’t going to be long before Move Like Michael Jackson raised its head. A new six-part BBC series in hommage to the late Prince of Pop – Michael Jackson – is calling for dancers to audition for the nationwide competition for find the best Jacko mover.
The reality show will be open to everyone – and follow auditioners for solo, duo and group categories. But the advert for the show makes one thing clear – this isn’t simple Jackson-imitation, like our much-loved postman demonstrates (below) – the show will be looking for anyone who best embodies the legendary star on stage or create their own iconic steps – from moonwalking Mambos to heel-spinning Salsa dancers, the competition is open to all regardless of technical ability, style or discipline. On the judging panel will be Michael’s brother Jermaine Jackson and the winning act will perform at the tribute concert next year.
Over the next week Fever Media will be running auditions in Glasgow, Cardiff and Newcastle – so make sure you get to an audition venue near you - see the full details for applying to audition on the BBC website here.
