- Snap Dance artist, photographer, practitioner
A new dance, photography and wellbeing project has been launched to get young people engaging with dance and have their work snapped up on film.
DanceXchange are seeking a dance artist, photographer and wellbeing practitioner to work on the project, Snap Dance, which will run from December 2009 til February 2010. The contract would include two days of planning, and approximately 50 hours of contact time with rates based on £37/hour.
The aim of Snap Dance is to help young people learn the art of parkour and physical theatre techniques in order to create some choreography and stunning photos. Snap dance will create taster sessions for five groups – including those from Looked After Children and hospital schools in Birmingham. After the tasters an intensive week in February half term will take place at DanceXchange – working with ten youngsters leading up to a day of sharing.

- Dance Festival Intern
DanceXchange are also looking for a programme support intern for two festivals taking place next year (we’re sure you’ve heard about them by now!) – International Dance Festival Birmingham and British Dance Edition. Although this post is unpaid – it will give you a great range of experience in arts administration and project management to get your foot in the door for a future in the dance sector. You do, however, need to be available from November 2009 to May 2010 full time.
