DanceXchange, the National Dance Agency for Birmingham and the West Midlands, is hosting two major dance festivals in 2010 and they are now looking for an enthusiastic bunch of volunteers to help run one or both of the events which take place in February and April next year.
British Dance Edition (BDE2010) is a biennial industry showcase of national dance for programmers, producers, artists and the general public to sap up the very best of Britain’s dance – including performances, professional workshops, debates, discussions, networking, hobnobbing, and everything you need to get fired up for producing another two years of home and international dance.
International Dance Festival Birmingham 2010 (IDFB2010) is relaunching after its two-year break following a successful run in 2008. Run by Birmigham Hippodrome and danceXchange the four-week festival dates have been confirmed and will take place from Monday 19 April to Sunday 16 May 2010.
The festival is a world-renowned event which sees a range of national, international and local dance artists putting on a positively scrumptious dance feast in venues across Birmingham and the West Midlands – including large scale events, workshops and classes.
If you fancy volunteering (and let’s face it, who wouldn’t), duties include registering and assisting delegates, looking after artists and companies, guiding visitors to venues, stewarding at festival and performances and events.
