View West Mids Dance Studio spaces in a larger map
Part of my job at ACE dance and music is organising their studio space rental. It’s made me realise that finding available, affordable studio space is a bit of a nightmare for dance artists and organisations without a base of their own. So one day, whilst I was bored, I created this open Google map of studio space in the West Midlands. At the moment it looks to be pretty slim pickings – is this the problem? Anyone can edit the map, so if you know of any dance studios available for hire that aren’t already on there, please help by adding them!

Nice work Nicky, let’s hope more spaces get added although the cynic in me worries that people will want to keep some spaces to themselves because there are so few good spaces.
Ah, I hadn’t thought of that – suppose I was looking it from the perspective of a company with space to hire. So sad that resources are so scarce it’s a possibility people may feel the need to keep their finds under wraps!

We have a lovely dance studio at Solihull Sixth Form College available on a Thursday evening from 5pm onwards. Mirrored, under-floor heating, only 2 years old and all the sound facilities you need. If anyone is interested please call me at the college on 0121 704 2581.
