On Sunday night I went along to U. Dance Raw Energy: West Midlands Youth Dance Platform hosted by DanceXchange and was left gob-smacked by the quality of the quality of the performances.
The programme described the events as:
Eleven youth dance companies from across the West Midlands… Encompassing a range of dance styles and inspiration for work, Raw Energy is a celebration of the excellent dance development work happening in the region and created by youth dance companies, schools, community groups and private dance schools.
The event delivered so much more than I expected, with some seriously talented young dancers demonstrating a wide mix of styles.
On display were the following dance companies/organisations (followed by the name of the piece they performed):

- Chitraleka Dance Company – Thodayam
- JECL Dance Company – REBORN
